With his dilapidated Land Rover, magnetic zest for life and unending passion for travel, Chris not only stole my parking spot in a remote Malawi campsite, but he also stole my heart. Our chance encounter is yet more proof that one of life’s most endearing elements is its unpredictability. I swapped my overland truck for his Matilda and the rest, as they say, is history.
Together, we drove from Kenya to Germany in a year and a half. We took a detour through Somaliland and Djibouti and experienced, for the very first time, the humbleness and hospitality that is so very Arab.
